nice work, but you need stronger shadows. lighting is one of the hardest parts of 3D modeling...
ayembee Featured By Owner Sep 5, 2005
kack it all in and become an interior designer. i'd live there! ;P
night-glo Featured By Owner Aug 28, 2005
This probably seems like the dumbest question, but how do you create such awesome 3d art? What program do you use.. and how do you use it? I have no clue..
GeneraLNinja Featured By Owner Aug 23, 2005
Nice piece of work. I think im inspired to do something like this as well. :P One thing i noticed is the lighting and shadows at the top, between the ceiling and the wall with the painting. I dont get how there should be a shadow (if that is a shadow) there? :?
But overall its a great looking piece and hopefully ill get my hands on interiors in 3D soon.

Great table! Ive been working on some funky tables but all gets left on sketches!
Love the glasses too.

Attention to detail is ace -> Thats 120V N American sockets! :D

The lighting makes the scene quite ..otherworldly (it's a word in my world :) )
Forgotten-Myth Featured By Owner May 16, 2005

Beautiful! I spent about 5 minutes looking at it...nice work! How much did it take you to do it?

Very sweet, I would love to have a room like that. I can't even draw anything like that. :( I actually want to sit in that couch. Beautiful textures.

Wow that's what i am talking about. You can give a little bit light blob(glow) on thoes 2 lamps on ceiling. Also little bit DOF and another crossed spike on the table because just cant realize how it stays.;) Nice lighting you can blur a little bit the shadows on the walls and the first blue lamp has stranje squeeze on the top. I really like this picture . Maybe you could type something ot this picture or pain a rose or something.

Add a plant! Add a plant! No wait! Add a whole bunch of them!

*cough cough*
Anyway, very realistic! The painting is positively cute, and the pink statue (its a statue right?) looks very good. You even thought of bunch of plug-sockets XD. Though I don't really agree with the grey carpet. It looks somewhat out of place... discolored you might say.
And if this was my livingroom, I'd really put some plants in it ;P.
almatadema Featured By Owner Nov 28, 2004
wow, pretty....i love the lighting... wish my room had lighting like that.... then it'd be nice and bright :D

I love how organic everything looks. Everything is so flowing and smooth without looking overly soft and falccid. I'd love to have furniture like this. Ever think of designing furniture and sculptures like this?
animatorsc Featured By Owner Nov 15, 2004
Well, you don't need me to tell you your renderings are gorgeous. You do a really great job at creating a world, not just an environment. Like this piece for instance, The table design is so cool, as are your glasses (I want a set!, lol). There is this realism to the piece, and I'm not talking about the textures and lighting, but in the detail and thought that went into creating the scene. Anyone can make a background, it takes real talent to make a world you can see yourself in.

The only thing i dont like is the carpet...but it must just be the contrast...a whit and grey would be better.

Hey, I mentioned grey in the comment I made on your tomatoes...weird
I wonder if I like grey...meh

Very nice style, I like the blue and white. My only complaint is that the sunken lighting in the cieling is just a bit too large. You would need to put flood lights in there to light em. Not that it takes away from your werk or anything, I'm just wayyyy too anal....heheh...
tymstudios Featured By Owner Jun 27, 2004   Digital Artist

blue not being my fave color, i wouldnt live in a room like this but my sister would... in fact she has that lamp :D

i love however the feel of the room. the crisp clean feel. the tile is nicely done. that magenta/purple piece in the back pops out against the cool colors.

exdevlin Featured By Owner Jun 26, 2004  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I love the table, I thought it was a really original idea when you first started out. There is one thing that bothers me, the end of the standleg seems to sink into the carpet. I think it'd be a little more realistic if it had a rubber-capped end, like most table legs do when they're used on carpet. I really like the fact that you decided to use a glass top, the light refraction in it is beautiful. The spined standlamp was also, a very cool touch to the furnished room. I love lamps like that, so you hit a sort of soft spot for me. It's really cool how you spiraled it in lazy curves. I think the spine itself would've looked a little more realistic to how they usually look in real life: chrome. Shiny and reflective, but the fact that it's matte here gives it a muted look which fits in with the room quite nicely. I'd have to see both versions of the spine before I could tell you which is better. Beautiful use of a framed wallhanging, and the power outlet in the bottom left is an ingenious touch to give the room a "real" feel.

I love the way you're progressing in your renders, they're starting to seem more complete. Great work Derek!
